Disability Confident Kink

There is a significant overlap between the kink community and disability community, but disabled people are often de-sexualised and marginalised from sexual spaces, including kink. This workshop will provide participants with tools for disability confident kink play, including:

The Social Model of disability and the overlap between kink and disability

  • Universal Design Principles

  • Negotiating with accessibility needs in mind

  • Adapting play for accessibility

  • Ways to communicate about accessibility in scene without disrupting play

This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, both for allies and people with disability (including visible and invisible disabilities). It will include discussion and tips, tricks and accommodations for disabled bodyminds.

This is a great opportunity for those on both sides of the Sub/Dom scale to learn and expand their knowledge on disability confident kink.

This will be a collaborative workshop because everyone has their own ways of adapting their play to suit their needs. If you want to share your own approach, we encourage you to do so and there will be time for questions and discussion.
