Rules and Etiquette

Set yourself up for success at the Studio

  • By purchasing a ticket to our events you are consenting to enter the space with the potential of engaging in kink and BDSM activities, and are accepting all responsibility for the risks associated with this play. This includes the potential to witness play that you may find confronting.

Your ticket purchase releases Studio of Secrets for any liability for injuries suffered as a result of your activity of choice. There is no insurance that covers individual BDSM activity and you must be aware of the risks you are taking before you engage in a scene.

If we observe any play we deem to be unsafe or likely to result in injury, we will intervene to suggest safer options, or entirely stop the scene.

  • Tickets to our events are fully transferable to another person, and we always encourage people to sell tickets on rather than request a refund.

Refunds processed by Staff will incur a 25% administration fee. All refunds stop 48h prior to an event or workshop. You cannot transfer your ticket to another event.

Can’t make it? That’s ok but please let us know, even if it is after the 48h refund cutoff. We don’t want our Staff standing at the door unnecessarily for people who aren’t going to show up!

  • We are very consent focussed, and have a zero tolerance for people pushing boundaries or making others uncomfortable after they've said no.

We do not have a sex on premises license - our parties are for kink play, not swinging.

Pick up play is possible but should never be assumed.

We have Dungeon Monitors on site, who support the safety and enjoyment of all guests.

  • As we are an intimate space, the personal hygiene of our event guests is incredibly important. Please ensure you shower thoroughly before any events or workshops at the studio, and wear clean clothing and deodorant.

To ensure a clean and safe environment for all our guests, it is mandatory to clean up after your scene. We have limited supplies at the studio, and expect guests to BYO gear relevant to their scene. Every well stocked kinkster cleaning kit should include viraclean or a similar surface disinfectant, paper (or washable) towels, and chlorhexidine or isopropyl alcohol for our medfet players. It is also critical that you BYO sharps container. If you have forgotten to bring supplies, please ask a member of staff before helping yourself to ours.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all surfaces you’ve played on have been thoroughly wiped down. Please put ALL refuse, bio-waste, and recycling in the bins provided.

Any scenes that may involve body fluids require a dropsheet and/or other methods of containment. If body fluids come into contact with any surface in the studio, you must notify a member of staff to ensure proper sanitisation procedures are followed.

  • You are welcome to use our furniture for your scenes, within the limits of your own risk profile and the limits of the space.

This is a working dungeon and the equipment in the space belongs to Mistress Zoe personally. Please do not touch any of the equipment or tools on our walls, bookshelves or other areas in the space without first obtaining permission from Mistress Zoe or one of the Studio Staff.

If something gets broken or spilled during your visit, please let a Staff Member know ASAP.

We have TWO suspension points in the main room that are controlled with block and tackle pulley systems. If you are wanting to use these suspension points please ensure you speak to a staff member. They will show you how the equipment works, assess your ability to work with the system, and ensure you have the required floor mats to proceed with your play.

  • Noise Restrictions

Although the main space has great soundproofing, we need to be careful with noise in the smaller side room (garage), and outside the building.

    • If playing in the side room, we ask that you engage in relatively quiet activities. This is absolutely not the space for our vocal masochists.

    • When leaving or going outside for any reason, please do so quietly.

    • If you are waiting for an Uber or cab, please do so inside the venue, or arrange pick up from the main road.

There are residences close to our location, and we would ask you are respectful of those around us. It is critical to our continued ability to operate events that we remain free of complaints from neighbouring properties.

    • No fire play

    • No wax play

    • No full nudity outside of a scene

    • We are not licensed for sex on premises

    • No using Mistress Zoe’s equipment without first obtaining permission

  • Please check the details in individual event descriptions

Workshops – casual & comfortable unless otherwise specified

  • Our doors will open at the time of the event. We will not allow early arrivals. If you arrive to the event early, please wait in your car or if taking an Uber or public transport go for a wander around the block or wait in the walkway across the road from the premises. We do not want people just hanging around outside the space, potentially drawing attention.

  • Our doors will open 15 minutes prior to the workshop start time to enable you to make a hot drink, take a seat and be ready for the presenter to start on time. If you are more than 15 minutes early, please wait in your car or if taking an Uber or public transport go for a wander around the block or wait in the walkway across the road from the premises. We do not want people just hanging around outside the space, potentially drawing attention.

Late arrivals are very disruptive and affect the flow of our workshops. If you are running more than 20 minutes late, you may miss critical safety information relating to the topic being discussed. Please ensure you enter as quietly as possible – no need to apologise, just take your seat.

  • Please note, all of our finish times for events are firm – if you want to avoid the big lights coming on, make sure you are out on time.

We know there is a lot of excitement generated at our workshops and people are eager to stay back and chat. Please note the studio will close 15 minutes after the conclusion of each workshop to allow our staff to reset the space. Some presenters will still take further questions in the days following, however it is always best to check with them directly about their communication preferences and capacity.

  • You are welcome to take photos of your play, provided everyone in the scene has consented to photography before commencing. Be mindful not to capture other guests in your photos (watch out for our mirrors) and ensure you edit out and/ or obtain consent from anyone appearing in a photo before posting.

We occasionally have event photographers – they will request your consent before capturing your scene. Links to photos will be sent out within 7 days and must be downloaded within 14 days of the event as they are then deleted.

We love when you share and tag us in your pics! If you have photos you are happy for us to use on our socials or in our newsletter, please email them to us info@studioofsecrets.com

  • Our parties have a BYO alcohol policy. We expect you to partake in moderation, and in consideration for the activities you have planned for the evening.

We reserve the right to restrict your play if we feel you are impaired, and have you leave the premises if behaviour gets obnoxious. We do not allow alcohol consumption at our Pins & Needles event.

We have a zero-tolerance policy for illicit drugs at the Studio.
